Just a short thought for you to chew on today. In Streams of Living Water, Richard Foster writes:
Virtue is good habits we can rely upon to make our life work. Conversely, vice is bad habits we can rely upon to make our life not work, to make it dysfunctional, as we say. So a holy life is simply a life that works.
Foster notes that too often we’re confused about what it means to live a holy life. We have a hard time picturing how to live a holy life because it seems too abstract, otherworldly, religious. I love how simple this is.
